About Our Founder

Lori Karpman is a dynamic and articulate businesswoman with essential professional designations and over 30 years of real-world business experience in a variety of corporate and not-for-profit environments. A strong leader and valued team-player with outstanding interpersonal skills, Lori understands that communication and respect for human values is the key to productivity and bottom-line results.
Lori has been working in the areas of strategic development and business growth since 1990. With just the right mix of education and real-world experience, Lori has become one of Canada’s leading management consultants and is widely a recognized as Canada’s leading expert on the subject of franchising and multi-unit development. Her firm, Lori Karpman & Company, has garnered a plethora of prestigious award for their management consulting work as well as several more for their services in the are of marketing and branding.

Acting on her passion and instinct for business, Lori graduated with honors from McGill University (Montreal, QC) with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, specializing in Marketing and Management Information Systems. She quickly followed that up with two degrees from McGill University in Civil and Common Laws. Lori, a former attorney, has practiced franchise law for over 25 years.
Lori is also one of Canada’s premier professional speakers and writers. She has been published in Canada’s (and the U.S.’s) foremost business and news publications, including Canadian Entrepreneur, CFA Magazine, The Gazette, Toronto Star, National Post and Journal les Affaires, plus numerous online publications. Lori is also quoted as an expert in over 100 articles. She previously had a daily TV segment called “News You Can Use”, discussing a variety of business issues, and has been featured on several radio stations and internet sites.

In addition to Lori's distinguished service on the boards and committees of the Canadian Franchise Association and the Quebec Franchise Council, Lori has earned recognition for her work in the non-profit sector. She has served as President and CEO of St. Andrew’s School, Vice-President of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada (CCFC), Chair, Strategic Planning Committee (CCFC), Chair, Marketing Committee (CCFC), Resource Chair of the Lower Canada College Parents Association, and has participated in the organization and execution of dozens of charity events and fundraisers for a variety of causes.
Lori, a former attorney, has practiced law for over 35 years.
